Abstract

BACKGROUND: Secretory production of recombinant enzymes in E. coli has significant advantages in bioprocess development, such as simplicity of purification, preventing proteolytic degradation, and providing greater access to substrates such as cellulose that opens the path to consolidated bioprocessing.
