2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-benzothiazole C16H15NO3S was obtained by condensation of 2-aminobenzenethiol with 3,4, 5-trimethoxybenzoldehyde. The structure of the title compound was indicated by IR, H-1-NMR, UV spectra and confirmed by an X-ray analysis. In the molecule the trimethoxyphenyl and benzothiazole groups are connected by a C-C bond of 1.478(6) Angstrom. The trimethoxyphenyl except a methoxy group and the benzothiazole group are nearly planar. The dihedral angle between these planes is 8.5(9)degrees.
