Özet

The aim of this study is to identify common speech intentions that occur between German-speaking tourists and Turkish staff in the tourism industry such as waiter / waitress, public relations manager, receptionists and animators. The qualitative data in this study is gathered via semi-structured interviews and open-ended written questions and were analyzed by using content analysis. On the other hand, the quantitative data comes from survey and was analyzed by using descriptive statistics method. While survey and semi-structured interviews were conducted with Turkish staff in the tourism industry, German-speaking tourists participated in open-ended written questions. Arguably, the identified speech intentions in this study could be used for designing GFL course books for Turkish students studying tourism degree.
