Özet

Epidemiological research studies that are conducted in our country indicate the frequency of severe systemic reaction resulting from bee sting as 1.2% to 4.3%. This rate decreases to 0.2% for children, yet it could as high as 6.5% for apiarists, who are high risk professionals. Bee stings are more common for the urban dwellers and apiarists, whereas wasp stings are more common for rural dwellers. It is estimated that; every year around 10 people are lost in Turkey because of that reason.
