Abstract

In the present study, two Pt( II) complexes with 2-substitutedbenzimida-zole ligands were synthesized and evaluated for their in vitro cytotoxic activities on HeLa and MCF-7 cell lines. 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazole-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) test results showed that complex 2 which was found to be the more active than carboplatin was the most cytotoxic active compound against the HeLa and MCF-7 cell lines among the tested compounds.
