Abstract

Relaxation is total physical relaxation of the skeletal muscles with a regulatory effect on the sympathetic nervous system. Even while resting, muscles are never completely relaxed; they maintain a specific tone. When muscle tone increases, it results some negative effects such as rapid heartbeat and cold hands. Relaxation techniques like Respiratory Exercise and Progressive Relaxation Technique can eliminate these effects. Increasing stress and muscle tone can cause loss of energy. Fatigue is a very important problem in MS. It limits patients in their lives. In addition to this, spasticity and fatigue affect each other. So Energy Conservation Techniques are used to prevent fatigue and to increase muscle tone.
