Effects of dynamic and static stabilization exercises on pain and functionality in chronic low back pain

Özet

Purpose: This study was performed to investigate the effects of dynamic and static stabilization exercises on pain and functionality in patients of chronic low back pain. Methods: Thirty patients with low back pain were included in the study. Patients were randomly divided into two groups as Static Exercises Group and Dynamic Exercises Group. Treatment program for the both groups was 3 days per week for 6 weeks. All subjects were evaluated for pain intensity (VAS), functional level (Oswestry Disability Index). Groups were assessed before and after the treatment. Results: In both Group there was significant pain relief in resting, and activity (p< 0.05) and Oswestry Functional Score. However there was no any significant difference in parameters between the groups (p> 0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, both static stabilization exercises and dynamic exercises have been found that they have beneficial effects on pain relief and functional level. Although the static exercises only seems to be more practical in the clinics required no device or equipments.
