Özet

The main aim of this study is to investigate the changes in 37 years period of different political identities and strata (socialists, Kurds, Alevies) of Turkish origion migrants who migrated from Turkey to the UK as political refugees following the military coup d'etat on September 12, 1980, and to compare the differences between the various perceptions of them concerning the time of migration and today situations. The data of the study are collected with 375 household surveys, 75 structured and semi-structured interviews done with the related residents of Cambridge, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Coventry, and particularly in London where the Turkish population resides in England at most in 2016. To achieve the aim, firstly, the reasons of migration from Turkey to the UK are searched. Secondly, a comparison made on their political views, economic standarts and life expectations between the time they arrived UK and today. It is found that there are important changes in their political views, political insprations, political thoughts and behavioral conducts from beginning to today time.
