This study examines AI-assisted art practices through the relationship between creativity, the creative subject, and artistic production processes. The aim of the study is to evaluate art practices produced with artificial intelligence in terms of the organization of the production process, the degree of human intervention, the position of the AI system within production and discourse, and the conceptual orientation of the artwork. The research adopts a qualitative and conceptual approach, analyzing selected cases within a comparative analytical framework. In this context, the selected examples are examined by considering technical aspects of their production processes, artist statements, and modes of presentation; each work is analyzed in line with the defined analytical criteria. The study argues that conceptualizing artificial intelligence as a technical collaborator performing specific functions in artistic production provides a more explanatory framework. Accordingly, a multi-axial analytical model based on three main axes is proposed in order to analyze AI-assisted artistic practices. These axes consider the stages and extent to which human intervention is determinative within the production process, how the AI system is positioned within both the production process and the discursive framework, and the conceptual orientation shaping the artwork. The selected examples are comparatively analyzed along these three axes; based on the findings, practices with similar production logics are grouped together and classified. In this process, the classification is not derived from predefined fixed categories but is instead constructed based on common characteristics that emerge during the analysis. Based on this model, AI-assisted artistic practices are discussed within five main domains: data- and human-intervention-driven generative art practices; robotic productions based on human–machine functional collaboration; approaches in which AI is represented as a creative subject; works focusing on algorithmic justice and ethics; and music and creative language practices. The study demonstrates that the field of AI-assisted art exhibits a heterogeneous, transitional, and multi-layered structure; therefore, it cannot be adequately understood through one-dimensional classifications.
