This study shows three-component particle vibration records from a number of empty set165 mm blast holes, single or double, of different depths and with varying charge contents. In this concept, effects of (1) hole-depth, (2) surface delays, (3) inter-hole delays and (4) free-face on the seismic signal were investigated. The pulse from one hole or charge was used as a signature and by linear superposition the composite signal from two holes or charges were constructed and compared with the measured signal. From these comparisons, a number of conclusions were drawn. Those conclusions provide the way for better mining solutions in terms of good fragmentation and minimum vibration.
