Özet

In children, one of the reasons of treatment failure is cessation of therapy before the planned time because of the taste, smell and appearance of the drug. Antibiotic therapy is one of the most difficult schedules that needs regular application. In this study, parents of children applying to our center were asked to compare 4 commonly used antibiotics, amoxicillin 125 mg/5 ml, amoxicilin clavulonate 600/ 42.9 mg, sefdinir 125 mg/5 ml and cefuroxime axetil 125 mg/5 ml according to taste, smell, appearance and colour. In this way it is aimed to ease the continuation of therapy. The doctor applying the survey is also kept blind throughout the study. Among the results, sefdinir is the mostly liked antibiotic due to taste (44.6%), while amoxicillin clavulonate is the second with a percentage of 33.8%, amoxicillin (10.8%) and cefuroxime axetyl (10.8%) are the least preferred ones.
