Detailed Description of Project “Combating Domestic Violence against Women Project” has been launched at the end of 2006 as a component of “Promoting Gender Equality Project” with the purposes of protecting women’s rights and eliminating domestic violence in Turkey. The Project aims to increase the capacity to combat violence against women in both central and local public institutions as well as the Non-Governmental Organizations. The project has two years duration and is being implemented by the Directorate General on the Status of Women (KSGM) with the technical support of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the financial support of European Union (EU).
